Orcas is an island, which means getting here takes a little planning. Most guests will fly to Seattle or Bellingham, drive to Anacortes, and take the ferry to Orcas. The ferry ride itself is part of the experience, so settle in, head up to the deck, and watch the islands appear on the horizon. We've put everything you need below.

For most guests, the journey will look like Fly, Drive, Ferry, Orcas. Please plan to arrive on the island by Thursday, September 23.

Fly into Seattle (SEA)
Best for guests coming from across the country or internationally. Seattle generally offers the most flight options. Plan extra time for the drive north to Anacortes.

Fly into Bellingham (BLI)
A great option when the flights work for you. Bellingham is closer to Anacortes, so the airport-to-ferry trip is shorter. You can also check flights into Everett (PAE), about an hour south of Anacortes.

Transportation
If you rent a car, book it a few months in advance, since island and airport inventory can be limited. If you don't want to rent a car, book the Belair Shuttle from SeaTac to Anacortes.

Ferry Reservations
Anacortes to Orcas Island. If you're bringing a vehicle, make a vehicle reservation about two months in advance. Extra sailing availability is released at 7am PST at two weeks and two days out. Walk-on passengers and bicycles don't need one. Please arrive at the ferry terminal at least 45 minutes before departure.

Seaplane
If you're feeling like treating yourself, take a seaplane flight with Kenmore Air from Seattle. It's about one hour and roughly $200 per person.

Arrival on Orcas
If you don't bring a car, we can help coordinate a pick-up or shuttle from the Orcas Island ferry terminal. We'll ask about your transportation plans in the RSVP so we can help everyone get where they need to go.

Where to Stay
Make yourself at home
Orcas has everything from cozy cabins and waterfront retreats to inns in Eastsound and private home rentals. September weekends can fill quickly, so we recommend looking early. Airbnb is also a great option, especially for larger groups or a longer island stay.
Doe Bay Resort
Quiet, woodsy, waterfront, very PNW. Our family will be staying here for the week leading into the wedding. Book public lodging at Doe Bay Resort.

Moran State Park
Perfect for guests who want cabins, hiking, lakes, and to be close to the wedding location. Limited rustic cabin accommodations will be available at Camp Moran for guests who would like to stay onsite. Bedding and towels will be provided. Bathrooms and shower facilities are available. If you're interested in this option, please let us know and we'll coordinate cabin assignments.
Rosario Resort
A historic waterfront resort with views over Cascade Bay, a marina, spa, and dining. A special option if you want the full Orcas experience in one place.

If you're arriving late or want an easy ferry morning, consider staying near the ferry terminal the night before.

Good things to know
We strongly recommend arriving on Orcas Island by Thursday, September 23.
The earlier, the better. Island lodging fills up quickly, especially for a Friday wedding weekend. We recommend booking as soon as your travel plans are set.
Not necessarily. A car is the easiest way to explore, but walk-on ferry travel is possible.
Only if you're bringing a vehicle. Walk-on passengers and bicycles don't need one.
Our ceremony and reception will be adults-only, with the exception of our nephews and flower girl, who will be participating in the wedding. We love your kiddos and hope you'll still bring them along to enjoy Orcas with you!
Please do. Saturday is intentionally open so everyone can enjoy Orcas without wedding obligations.
